The inaugural UCI Gran Fondo in China launches at Qiandao Lake, Hangzhou, with a 136km course designed to challenge even the most seasoned elite riders. As the first event of its kind in the country, this marks a historic moment for competitive cycling in China, offering UCI license holders a high-caliber race environment with international exposure.
The route delivers a dynamic mix of terrain: sustained flats for speed, rolling climbs to test power, and technical descents that demand control and precision. The roads around Qiandao Lake are smooth, wide, and impeccably maintained—ideal for high-speed racing and tactical group riding. With full road closures, neutral support, and timing systems in place, this is a race built to UCI standards.
